Review summary

This was our 5th Carnival cruise. We had heard that this ship is being sold to a different cruise line later this year and through our experience, it just felt like Carnival is "giving up" on this ship. We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed ourselves, but was underwhelmed with the food and table service (in the dining room) we received. The ship was very clean and our steward very nice. He always new our names and our cabin was always well maintained.  The entertainment left something to be desired, though. We were in agreement that the entertainment on the Conquest, the ship we were in in Jan,  was by far much better. Half Moon Cay was our most enjoyable port.  Amber Cove, not so much. All in all, we had a nice trip. Looking forward to our November cruise back on the Conquest.

One of the best balcony cabins we've had. Nice and quiet.

seems to keep changing, we are going for 14 days to Alaska next August. I see bookings until April 2019.

I hope not 2018. Already have a September cruise booked.

Have to agree with all you said about Splendor. We enjoyed ourselves as well but food and dining room service was just ok. The Entertainment felt like the same show every night, just different songs. Absolute favorite part of this ship is the cloud 9 state rooms! We used the amenities every day after the ports and before dinner! Totally recommend to anyone contemplating whether to book a cloud 9 spa balcony room or not! Took an excursion around Amber Cove ((DR) instead of going to resort area! Got a taste of the culture. Wow what an eye opener it was. Very very sad to see the way the locals live. Everyone of us on that ship are so fortunate!

P&O is also a Carnival Corp. Line.

On December 15, 2016 it was announced that the ship would be transferred to the P&O Cruises Australia fleet in 2019.

Thank you. Looks like you had a pretty good time. I guess if it happens. I will just book something else.

I hope this is not true. I heard 2019. We have booked a cruise on the Splendor for October 2018. I guess we will see what happens.
