Review summary

the favorite part of the cruise was the exceptional show cast. They were the best I have every had the honor to see both on stage and off ;therefore, the 3 stars . I have cruised with carnival (the last time in 2005) before and tried them again. I was disappointed with lack of organization and processing entering the ship as well as the mealtime scheduling. I am most upset about the fact I was charged $723 for taxes, fees, and port charges while our friends with the same accommodations were charged $322. Who would like to explain that to me?.

Thanks for the advice. It's good to hear what people like on the ship.

We enjoyed the shows in the spectacular theater and our favorite was the band RunForCover! Great group, fun times dancing! Don't miss them!

I agree it's about her Port taxes and fees. Did one have an inside cabin and the other one had a balcony. If they were separate types of rooms that could cause the fees to go up. If not yes she should call Carnival and find out why.

I think the question everyone is missing here from the OP is why they were charged more in port fees, taxes & service fees (Gratuities?). My only reason would be accommodations. The OP indicates they had a balcony? What type cabin did the others have because that could play into the additional charges. If this is not the case, I would most definitely call Carnival and ask them!

I have been on many cruises all cost are explained up front. When you first book there is a totalwhich then adds port fees and taxes then if you want you can pre pay tips i think 12 a day pp any other charges would be what you spent on ship

I haven't paid gratuity fees yet....I don't think lol

Did you prepay your taxes, port fees, and gratuity?

I myself like to see the good and the bad reviews . Won't stop me from going on my cruise in February. We all want that perfect Cruise but it doesn't always happen. No differently then going on a vacation and have it rain the whole week while we're gone. Everyone have a great Cruise and enjoy life.

@plamonica I was on splendor 5/26-6/4 and I have to agree getting off of the ship was horrendous due to disorganization.. Also didn't care much for CD and activities planned !!! They were much better on other carnival cruises!!!! But that won't deter me- going on Magic in September 2016!!!!

You should definitely call Carnival about your port fees.
