Review summary
While this was my fifth cruise, it was the first one I have taken without having to fly to get to the ship. Leaving from New York was very convenient, although the terminal employees were definitely New Yorkers- rough, brass, loud, rude, and not very helpful. We were not directed as to where to leave our luggage until we had schlepped it all the way upstairs. At that point a rude woman yelled at us to bring it back down. Okay- that could have been handled differently.
We did not let that dampen our spirits. The rest of the cruise was wonderful. The Splendor is getting old, but the staff was amazing. The cabins were clean, the food was great, and the entertainment was awesome. We did miss having Bingo every day, but we managed to find other things to do. The ports were perfect- Boston, Portland, St. John, Halifax- all wonderful small cities.
All in all, a very relaxing non-beach cruise.
