A Great Experience

Sail Date: April 03, 2011

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

The "Splendor" is a FANTASTIC ship! The many levels and opportunities for activities are unimagineable!!

Pros: The Food !!

Cons: Mazatlan was cancelled from our itinerary.

Recommends Carnival Splendor? Yes!

Children's Programs
Activities were apppropriate, however, my three-year-old had a problem participating with structured activities. He preferred to play with the toys on his own, which disrupted the structured program I would rather staff allowed those kids who didn't want to participate to enjoy the toys/games on their own.
Ship Quality
Relatively easy to maneuver around the ship. It would be easier, however, to have more maps near the elevators to let you know where you are in relations to where you want to go.
Food and Dining
There was ALWAYS somewhere to eat !! No problems here !!
Cabin / Stateroom
Outstanding accomodations! We had a balcony overlooking the ocean. Great room!
Service and Staff
Extremely friendly !! Staff always went "overboard" with their quality of service!
Entertainment
Could not hear the announcements from within the room. I had to open the door to be able to hear what the cruise director was saying.
Puerto Vallarta, Mexico
Did not like the roadways in Puerto Vallarta. The shops in town were adequate and the sand carvings on the beach were an attraction that everyone should see.
Don't Miss: The sand carvings
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
Clearly, everyone must visit the shops and travel away from the main marina area. We enjoyed Senor Frogs and other restaurants conducive to kids.
