I’ve always been told to go talk to the Maitre’D that first afternoon right after you board the ship. *Or sometimes I’ve seen online, at the bottom of your Booking and Order Details, there’s a place to click on “Your Cruise Companions” and add their booking #. Just below that it will say, “Missing someone? Invite them to be your cruise companion”. Maybe one of those options would work.

Just call with both booking numbers and request it. Shouldn't be a problem.

Think you just line up together and ask for a table for 9 people

You can add them as companions in your cruise planner, then when you check in to dine it will let you add them to get a table (if you have anytime dinning) if you have set dinning make sure you all pick the same dinning time and you will have a table together.
