Took a family cruise with people ranging from ages 1 to 60s. Had a wedding while onboard, went great. Food was amazing. Crew is very sweet. Had lots of fun at soulplay and watching the shows.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was decently smooth. Got on quickly. Receiving bags was a nightmare. "The tags fell off" of 2 of our bags and we had to claim them from a room of lost luggage. We also received a bag that did not belong to any of us. Also recieved excursion tickets that did not belong to us.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food was incredible. Empire restaurant, buffet and steak house were great. High quality food at all hours of the day. I don't love the food layout, but it didn't bother me tremendously.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pools and hottubs were cool. Loved the soulplay activity room. Arcade and casino were fun. There were some fun activities, but I did feel like there was quite a bit of "in between" time where we were left looking for things to do.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The piano bar is so much fun. The shows in the pharaoh room are fun too, but it was hard to find seats for some of the shows.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service and staff was so friendly. We had some great attendants. I did feel like they need some extra hands, like a lot of the staff was being stretched thin. Our party had a wedding on the ship and we had to meet with the planner during her shift hosting dinner. Not her fault, but something I feel carnival needs to address.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The architecture is quirky and cute, but the layout is somewhat confusing. Common areas were clean but I was concerned about how spills were commonly left unattended. Somone in out party slipped and fell on icecream spilt across the floor they didn't see turning the corner. It was fine, but no one came to help or clean it until much after. Constantly saw food spilled in the elevators. Someone broke a glass and it was swept over to the side. Other ships I'm on are usually more on top of it, even if it's just putting out a temporary sign.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
No complaints. Interior with window.
Ship tip
Great starter ship, more laid back. Bring a blanket, the rooms are cold.
Thanks for the review! I recommend asking the cabin attendant for additional blankets, and I also recommend getting the plastic sleeves (Amazon) for the cabin luggage tags. They are cheap and won't come off. Glad you had a great time and the wedding went well!
