Review summary

While the Spirit is smaller than the newer ships, she doesn't disappoint. It was a full ship and we didn't feel crowded at all. We would definitely sail on her again.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation process was easy. We arrived slightly before our check in time and had no trouble going through. We had a scooter and the employees directed us to the elevators without any confusion. Waiting in the holding room before we were called to board was the only negative. It was FREEZING! Make sure to bring a sweater. Boarding went very quickly without any confusion. As soon as we got on we were directed to our Muster Station and got that out of the way in less than 5 minutes. From there we went to the Lido deck where lunch was waiting for us. Don't wait to do the Muster Drill. It's so easy and once it's done you can relax!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The Main Dining Room food options were excellent and the staff that served us were top notch. The buffets had a good variety and everything was good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
For a smaller ship there was still a lot of activities to do. We enjoyed the Serenity Pool and it was only crowded on sea days. We enjoyed the spa and got a milk bath massage that was very helpful for our unfortunate sunburn. They tried to sell us a bottle of the stuff for $74 but when we declined they weren't pushy at all. There always seemed to be an activity to join in from Bingo to Karaoke and so much trivia.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The performers from the musical shows did a great job each night and the other musicians throughout the ship were great as well.

Children's Programs

We didn't travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we met were smiling and helpful. Our room steward kept our rooms looking great. The Main Dining Room Staff were so kind and entertaining. Erin the cruise director did a great job keeping everyone informed and entertained. She's very down to earth.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The Spirit is a smaller ship so it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the larger ships. We missed the outside seating area on deck 5 of the Horizon. But overall the layout is easy to navigate. It doesn't feel like that long of a walk from one end to the other. The staff did a great job of keeping everything clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It wasn't too far from the elevators and even though it was above the main dining room it was quiet. They make the most of a small space. The balcony was perfect!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
It is easy to get to the port from the airport and local hotels.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

5 out of 5
There is a free beach just a short walk from the ship. We paid for the excursion so that we would have a clamshell with 2 lounge chairs and floats for the water. It was well worth it. The best advice I can give is don't forget to reapply that sunscreen! It got us!

Belize City, Belize Did not visit port

We chose not to use the tender because it looked choppy and we had someone with mobility issues.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We just got off the ship and did a little shopping in the port. It was super busy with 3 ships docked that day.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We were one of the last groups called to disembark and were off the ship before 9:30 am. Our luggage was easy to find and everything went smoothly.
