Review summary

They must have cut staffing since Covid. It is very noticeable in their service. My wife and I will not cruise Carnival again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food was good. Bar service was very poor, not enough bartenders or waiters -- soda package was not worth the money.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Pools need updating -- they don't look clean.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Stage shows and comedians were good. Seems like they cut the entertainment staff. Didn't see much of any other entertainment.

Children's Programs

Didn't bring children.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Bar staff and entertainment staff seemed very light. Rooms only cleaned once a day.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Pool areas were small. Pools looked dirty.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Balcony was nice.

Ship tip

Don't buy the soda package and don't expect great service.

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

4 out of 5
Nice, clean beach.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

4 out of 5
Did the Ocean World day pass. It was good.

Grand Turk Island

1 out of 5
Did the bus tour and beach excursion. Not worth the money. Still recovering from hurricanes. Really run down. Beach was not as good as the free beach off the end of the dock.

Still recovering from COVID got on the cruise. Staff tries - but short handed to be sure. Did not get in pools - looked dirty. First cruise - not sure I’ll do another.

I second what Retired Ray said. He nailed it

Staff cutbacks are common on most cruise lines now. Grand Turk is great for snorkeling, diving or a beach day.

Unfortunately, even the big ships are short handed. A sad side effect of government mismanagement, another government’s evasive behavior of the issue, and media negatively super hyping a very small part (cruise ships) of what became a major problem.

Thats what happens when u go on a ship thats over 20 years old and its one of the smallest ships in their fleet
