Sail date: June 07, 2011

Ship: Carnival Spirit

Cabin type: Suite

Traveled as: Family (older children)

Review summary

The suite we had was very nice, the tacky 70's Las Vegas styling of the ship was embarrassing. The cocktail vendors were annoying and the infomercial manner of the Cruise Director was a pain. The waiters and room attendants were tremendous. The food was so-so.

Very interesting and they had great museums and left the Capitol building open on a Saturday for us. Very nice.

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
Nice in that it wasn't a tourist makeover. A bit small and too expensive.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 ships at the dock at one time. Overdose.

Pros: The cruiseline employees were fantastic

Cons: The gaudy ship
