Not bad but certainly not great

Sail Date: June 07, 2011

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Suite

The suite we had was very nice, the tacky 70's Las Vegas styling of the ship was embarrassing. The cocktail vendors were annoying and the infomercial manner of the Cruise Director was a pain. The waiters and room attendants were tremendous. The food was so-so.

Pros: The cruiseline employees were fantastic

Cons: The gaudy ship

Recommends Carnival Spirit? No.

Ship Quality
The ship was big and spacious. It was kept very clean. It definitely needs a makeover.
Food and Dining
The staff were fantastic. The food was so-so.
Cabin / Stateroom
The room was great and kept spotless buy the attendants. The whirlpool tub did not work.
Service and Staff
Absolutely fantastic!
Entertainment
Nicely done. The shows were very enjoyable.
Ketchikan, Alaska
5 ships at the dock at one time. Overdose.
Skagway, Alaska
Nice in that it wasn't a tourist makeover. A bit small and too expensive.
Juneau, Alaska
Very interesting and they had great museums and left the Capitol building open on a Saturday for us. Very nice.
