Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast & easy! Had a "Get Away" Cruise, checked online and all went very smoothly, from security to room!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining room was nice and comfortable, easy to find a table for just the two of us. Wait staff was friendly. The buffets had great selections, carved turkey, roasts, pasta, veal parmesan, salads, even hot dogs & grilled cheese! The Burgers at Guy's burger joint where delicious with lots of fixings to choose from. the Iguana Cantina had great tacos & tortilla bowl burritos with any sides you can imagine.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Deon was our cruise director and kept us informed of all the activities! He was wonderful at getting everyone involved! I Participated in one of his fun activities, never had before and had a wonderful time!! GREAT JOB!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Only went to one show which was fantastic singing and dancing! Very entertaining!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
I had no children with me but from what I saw and heard, it looks like they have a great program. The water slides also looked like fun and each time I went by they had it staffed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All personnel were courteous and friendly. It did not matter where on the ship, always greeted with a smile and a good morning, good afternoon or good evening! The service at the casino for drinks seemed a little slower than elsewhere. A few times we did wait too long for a drink to arrive.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It is an older ship and smaller than others, but we have been on Huge ships with more amenities and can honestly say, we had more fun on this one! Bigger & shinier does not mean better! It was always clean and well maintained!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Best inside cabin for less noice. I feel this cabin was perfectly convenient to the elevator which took us strainght up to the 10th floor to the pool, outside bars & buffet. It is just a short walk to the casino and clubs when getting off on 9. It is a little far for guest services & excusions desk, but not bad as we didn't really need them often. I would definitely book this room again!!

Ship tip

Pay as you go so you don't have any surprises at the end. What ever we charged during the day, we paid before going to bed!!

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
One of the most beautiful places ever!. We have been here twice now and would love to go again soon. We rented a half shell tent thingy.. (don't know what theya re called) as there is not much shade. stayed for a few hours, the water was beautifuly clear. We did some snorkeling, didnt see a lot of fish but did see a variety. They had great food with Lemonate and juice included. My suggestion is bring a your own cup for ice from the bar and bring your own soda or water. I will try to bring a very small cooler next time.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Some pushiness with vendors a little bit more than other time. We took a cab for $4 each per person to Atlantis. Some one did try to charge us $5 but when i mentioned that someone else told us $4, which was true, they did it for $4. If you go to atlantis early sign up for the free slot tournament. Each participat will get $10 free play just for playing. 1st place $100, 2nd $50, 3rd place $25. There wehre only 5 of us at the time so it worked out really well for us!!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

I am sorry to actually give a review on this port. First of course we all know that Hurricane Dorian hit them so hard and for that we are all very sorry. We had read about Port Lucaya and how people there need our support to recouperate so that is where we decided to go. Unfortunately there is not much there yet and the few vendors that were there were so pushy and rude. We just ended up giving money to a girl that kept telling us that we were just like everyone else who didn't want to buy from them and then she just turned right around and didn't even say thank you.. I know that most of that type of behavior is out of desperation but it was a very uncomfortable time. It cost us $12 round trip. You pay the $12 upfront then they give you a coupon for the way back. Well we had enought and wanted to go back but they refused to take us back as they wanted to fill the van. With so little people visiting the area it took us a very long time to leave. The taxi drivers themselves where friendly and told us stories that were very sad, but I just don't think this port is ready yet. Even after years of recuperation I just don't think they will have much to offer as other islands will. Again, sorry for my opinion, but i will never go back to Freeport.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easiest disembarkation ever, even customes was easy!! I suggest that you bring your passport for faster service. Not needed as your birth certificate is sufficient but it makes this easier.

We have been on the Sensation a few times and have always had a good cruise! I didn't care for Freeport before the hurricane... might just stay on the boat next time we port there (Jan. 2nd)...

Glad you enjoyed the cruise and the ship. We went on Sensation last year (2nd cruise since our first in 17 years). We loved Sensation. Deon was on the ship but not cruise director yet. Loved him too. Thanks for the review on the islands.
