Review summary

Cruises are my favorite type of vacation, and we have gone on 6 so far. When I saw that the Sensation was a smaller ship, I was initially disappointed, thinking that we wouldn't have much fun on a ship that size. Deon changed all of that, he packed so much entertainment and laughs onto that cruise that you had no choice but to have a fabulous time. He is an asset and definitely should be recognized for what he brings to Carnival in general and specifically to the Sensation. We had such a good time that Carnival is now my favorite cruise line and I am already looking into cruises for next year. All crew members that we came in contact with were all friendly and professional, especially Eri. We also had positive experiences with Jamie and Vasha in the formal dining room during our dinner on Friday the 16th. Thank you to all of you for making our vacation the best.

Wonderful, we had priority boarding and the only issue was that there was no one set up yet to take our photos when boarding, so we missed out on that opportunity.

Signed our daughter up but she ended up staying with us and did not participate in any of the teen activities

Service and Staff

I have been on numerous cruises and this is my second on Carnival. Deon is the best cruise director EVER, and sets the standard of what every cruise director on Carnival should aspire to be. Eri was our room steward and was absolutely wonderful, always addressed us by name and took care of our needs with a smile. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was clean, spacious and had plenty of storage for all of our items. One of the nicest suites we have ever been in. I spent a lot of time out on the balcony reading and relaxing while watching the water. It was beautiful and peaceful.

Ship tip

Download the carnival app, it's a great asset to help you find all of the ship's activities and you can save the events you would like to attend in order to plan out your days. Anything Deon is hosting is guaranteed to be fun and interactive.

Submarine tour was our favorite

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Island is stunning and the food was wonderful

Grand Turk Island

Loved the fact that shopping and a pool were both located so close to the port. Made it very convenient to head out for excursions and still be able to lounge, swim, and pick up souvenirs on your way back to the ship.

Letter that was put under our door that had #2 luggage tags and told us to be in the Fantasia at 8:15 to be escorted off of the ship. We went there and no one from the ship was there. Our floor (6) had already been called by 8:15, so we could have gotten off of the boat then, but waited in the Fantasia since that is where the letter said to be. After a bit of waiting we just went ahead down on our own and had no trouble disembarking. Just didn't understand why we were told to be in the lounge if there was no need at all to be there and no staff in there to assist us. We would have been off of the boat in a more timely manner by following Deon's instructions and not the instructions that were left under our door.
