Review summary

Fun, relaxing (more or less) cruise in the beautiful Caribbean. Kid and family friendly to an extent (expect to meet some of the less agreeable side of society from time to time!), good food and plentiful drinks.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth as silk - without doubt the easiest and fastest boarding ever.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Everything was really good - clean, great food selection (1 star less as I wished there were more meat free options especially in the burger bar), excellent drink selection tho I felt tyhe drink package was a little costly especially with only one adult drinking.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
One of the more disappointing aspects. It felt great for the first day or so then became a little dull. Comedy club at night helped, but ran really late (everyone with kids were shattered after a long day). Very few activities for the kids and the pool was disappointing.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Comedy club is decent. We enjoyed Andy, the resident comedian, but the other acts were average for the most part. Strangely, they were funniest at the 'family friendly' set earlier in the day!

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Poor. Kid club didnt work for our children and outside of this - very little available.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Absolutely first class. We were especially impressed with the lesser recognized staff such as cleaners, food service staff, maintenance and general guides to help you get around teh ship and were there to answer questions. We met people from every corner of the globe and they were genuinely lovely, warm people. Exception was the burger bar staff who never spoke a word to us and didn't seem to want to be there.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Old. Needs an update in the common areas and state rooms. Main entertainment and dining areas were spotless. Design was confusing. We found areas on the last day we didn't know existed all trip long.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Effective, functional, small. 5 of us in a room was always going to be a challenge. It was clean and well kept, tho outdated. Shower was hot. Main bed was soft / not particularly back-friendly. Power to lights in bathroom kept going out and we had to call maintenance a couple times. Otherwise functional and fine.

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

3 out of 5
Bad weather cut the trip short. The port area felt run down and maybe a little unsafe. We went to Atlantis which was fine but we were done in a couple hours. Should have booked more of a tour excursion in hindsight.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

4 out of 5
Stunningly beautiful but aside from the beach we didn't find much to do.

Grand Turk Island

4 out of 5
Probably our favorite. We took an island tour then beach. Price was maybe a little high for what we did but the tour guides were super friendly and knowledgeable and we learned a lot of history of the islands. Beach and water were stunning. Very relaxing day.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Great - well organized, clear announcements. Small delay at security but that was to be expected. Baggage handled well, overall way better than airport travel!
