Review summary

Overall, good deal for a weekend get away during the holidays.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Very easy and smooth. Gave our luggage to the porters, so we didn’t have to carry them. My luggage tag some how came off but the staff was able to locate my luggage and deliver to our room.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Great food choices. Food was taste except for the grilled chicken in the dining room was dry. Loved the comfort food of hamburger and pizza! Great to be able to get coffee and light breakfast delivered to our room each morning.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Loved the rope obstacle course. I appreciated that they kept the kids out of the serenity area so adults could enjoy the area.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Rock Revolution was an awesome show. Loved the drones.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward, Fredrick, was awesome. Took great care of us. Some of the food staff at buffet looked like they did not want to be there. Not rude but not friendly. Personal trainer in spa was rude and not helpful. Rrrico, our cruise director, and the fun squad were very energetic and got the crowds involved in the activities.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Clean ship and nicely decorated for Christmas. Layout a bit confusing. Had to go up then down to different floors to get from one end of the ship to the other.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Loved having a balcony. Room clean. Security needs to do a better job of screening for marijuana. One of our neighbors was constantly smoking on their balcony and it stank up our cabin. Not worth the extra money for a Cloud 9 cabin. No whirlpool in spa. Enjoyed the heated lounge chairs in spa.

Ship tip

Go to deck 5 when waiting for show doors to open. They usually open those doors first and you get a good seat.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Easy parking and walk to embark.

Catalina Island, California

Visitors had to tender into the island. We tried twice to get in a tender but the line was too long. Min 45 min wait. Just decided to stay on the ship.

Ensenada, Mexico

3 out of 5
Not much to do if you don’t go see the blowhole or pay for an excursion. We just walked to the open market then got back on the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Easy exit since we decided to carry our own bags off the ship. We ate breakfast around 7:30 am then went back to our cabin to get our luggage then headed out. No crowded exit, security was a breeze. Off the ship by 8:30 am.
