Review summary

This is my 5th Carnival cruise, and by far it was the loudest. Guests in the halls yelling at all hours, staff pushing loud carts through the halls overnight...it was a lot. Sleeping was difficult with the craziness in the halls.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth and basically effortless

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
They now have cover charges for food items that were included on previous cruises. Surf & Turf: now $23. Room service: no longer included. Additional entrees over 2: $6 each. Most seafood had an extra charge.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Spent most of our time on the sports deck: chess, pool, ropes course, mini golf and more were available. Since most entertainment by the cruise director on board was inappropriate for families, we just stayed on the sports deck.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Since most entertainment by the cruise director on board was inappropriate for families, we just stayed on the sports deck. When the motown sing along turned into Rico the Cruise director dirty dancing on the bar, we took our families back to our rooms.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Our children attended once when crafts were scheduled. The staff must've changed the schedule and did the craft early before our kids arrived. Our children watched the magician show that was performed instead, then left and did not return. Ages 9 and 11.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The ship personnel were generally very friendly and helpful. One thing that some of the waiters seemed to have difficulty with is providing actual dining room menus. Those in our party who did not have access to a smartphone to use their QR code menu asked for physical menus and that seemed to cramp their style. I personally hated reading the menu on my phone- who goes to a fancy restaurant and gets the menu from a QR??

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Balcony rooms have an ocean view window next to a glass door to the balcony. Sofa bed is way too short for anyone besides a child under 10. Upper pullman bed worked fine for our 6 foot tall son.

QR codes are convenient when I forget my glasses. Just enlarge menu on phone.

Thanks for the review. I also agree about the QR menu! Not my idea of classy either!

I agree I'm not a fan of the qr code, we just left a msc cruise yesterday and that was the method as well
