A birth certificate has always been required if you don't have a passport. Keep in mind that the birth certificate must be certified with raised seal intact.

I do remember upon online check-in you must choose which document you are bringing. Passport, Passport ID, or Birth Certificate.

Who ever did your cruise checkin online attested which form of ID you’re using, then it’s printed on your boarding pass 🤷🏼‍♀️ that’s a sign in addition to reading the policy.

The information regarding acceptable and required ID is in the cruise contract, sent via email, and is covered again when you check in for the cruise. When you checked in, you had to enter the forms of ID…

I’m sure birth certificates are required for children since that’s the only form of ID they would have unless they have a passport.

We always use our passport cards and ID. Never had any issues.

Always receive emails from Carnival stating what is required to board. Understand not everyone wants to get a passport, and yes the passport office is behind, however passports are the best way.

Yep, better to have a passport
