Review summary

Carnival has a bad rap as a 20 somethings drunken rude crowd cruise experience in broken down ships, not so anymore, my us is they're going after Royal Caribbean with their new and upgraded ships, improved menus and food choices while still a real fun ship, new decor is great too. Long time Princess Elite level, Carnival owns both, time to fix Princess, its old and tired with poor food selections and tired entertainment. ALSO, CARNIAL HAS HANDICAPPED LIFT FOR POOLS, FEW OTHERS CRUISE SHIPS DO! & ADA COORDINATOR ON BOARD

Embarkation

Fast and efficient, wheelchair assistance excellent, almost no waiting, luggage drop-off to state room in under 60Minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room was excellent, better than many more expensive lines, service very good and staff friendly and professional. Only one disappointment was The Deli after day one premade all sandwiches and was very short on meat in them. The Italian Specialty Restaurant was excellent at lunch - free, and fantastic for dinner and at $18 a great bargain. All the other alternate venues were excellent. They've really upped the bar on Carnival.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Shows were good at all locations and for a 4 night cruise a good amount of entertainment. Pool space was a bit lacking as weather was warm and every one was out .

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
If they were short staffed, you weren't affected we saw many staff serving in several different capacities around the ship.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The new Lido deck layout is a bit crowed especially as the was an end of summer cruise, lots of children and the seating layout from front pool to rear created narrow walkways as people were in line at several restaurants

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great use of space, cabinets and bathroom, small but functional shower as I'm handicapped and use a shower chair, reading light on headboard are useless if you have a pillow against headboard, common practice, lamp shines down into pillow as is so low making it totally useless. nice to have some type of nightstand or small shelf on each side of bed.

Ship tip

Take advantage of all the excellent free specialty restaurants, and don't miss the Specialty Italian dinner, great food excellent value
