Review summary

Overall this was a good experience I would do again I would probably try to see if there is another room class because my only complaint about the whole cruise was the noise from other cruisers in the hallway that significantly disturbed our ability to get any rest especially in late hours in the morning. My kids had a good time overall with the exception of the kids club they enjoyed taking part in other shipboard activities. I think if there had been more kids within their age range it might’ve been a more enjoyable experience for them they’re just seem to not be many in their peer group aboard the ship or that were participating in the kids club at the time that they went.

Embarkation

Embarkation was very easy we did the VeriFLY ahead of time and it was a breeze no issues at all

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was excellent service was great my kids enjoyed trying new dishes we did a specialty dining one night and really enjoyed it.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
My child absolutely loved the ropes course and had a wonderful time doing that. Neither of my kids were impressed with the kids club it appeared to be low attendance as far as other kids in their age group which might’ve contributed to it. Also they said that some kids were allowed to cheat about their age is to join other groups but with my younger being in one group while the older was in another and they were not allowed to combine groups despite being very close in age

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were great I really enjoyed the performances had a little bit of sensitivity to the fake smoke used in one of the productions but the show itself was lots of fun

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
My children would not recommend their kids clubs program they did not have fun it was very low attendance for children in their age group and even though my children are close in age because they were in the teens and young adult group (11 and 12) they were not allowed to stay together even though they said other children were allowed to that were of similar ages

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff was great very friendly and helpful throughout the ship

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean stuff worked hard to keep message to a minimum my only complaint is I wish there were service areas to put our dishes or throw away any trash because I personally feel uncomfortable just leaving dirty dishes sitting poolside or at the dining area but that’s just a personal hangup on my part.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The cabin was a typical size and was clean however my biggest complaint is the absolute noise inundation caused by other cruisers in the hallway. There was no sound barrier whatsoever and every time someone walked down the hallway he could hear steps and conversations at all hours of the night. As other cruisers have mentioned in other reviews there is only one electrical plug in the room and it’s very far away from the bed area so if you have something like a CPAP or alarm clock that you want near your bedside you have to bring your own extension cord approved for the Ship use

Ship tip

My advice is bring an electrical extension outlet approved for use on fort ship so that you have enough electrical ports for charging any devices. I would not recommend paying the five dollars to use the group chat if you have the Internet plan already my family was able to text with the social Internet plan and unfortunately I did spend the money for the app you switch turned out to be completely useless.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
Been to Long Beach many times when the Queen Mary was open getting on and off the cruise was no issue in a very easy process

Ensenada, Mexico

4 out of 5
We had a great time in Ensenada we did the surf lessons at Playa Hermosa. The excursion itself was wonderful the only issue is the area we were taken to had no restrooms whatsoever apparently there is construction in the area the group usually goes to but it was a long time at the beach with no facilities at all. However our staff was excellent the instructor was wonderful with my kids and they recommended a great place for lunch that we had downtown afterward getting on and off the ship was very easy.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy experience walked all the way through when it was time for a group. We did carry-on luggage off and had no issues at all
