Review summary

It had been over 17 years since our last cruise, and because we had such an excellent experience, we're looking forward to doing it again, but this time without our grandsons.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Once we got through security everything was fine. Our bags were already in our cabins by the time we got there. The person collecting our luggage after we arrived was asking for tips, which I thought was odd.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent and better than I imagined it was going to be. All of the specialty restaurants had excellent menus and the quality was very good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Our grandson's loved the pools and water slides. We enjoyed watching movies on the deck and relaxing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The staff was excellent from the person cleaning the ship to the Captain. Keep up the great job.

Children's Programs

Our grandson's chose not to participate, even though we tried. Lol

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Overall the ship personnel were excellent. They were friendly, eager to please and they were a show to see everyday. Our room stewards were top notch and our cabin was always super clean and organized.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ships layout was great, and the cleaning was excellent. The staff was continently cleaning, moping and wiping things down.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cleanliness was excellent and the beds, sheets and pillows were great! Very comfortable.

Ship tip

Make sure to read the small print regarding covid testing and when to take them.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

The people at the terminal who controlled the security were rude and not very friendly. One security lady yelled at my wife and I because we were trying to drink the water in our bottle before putting it in the trash. She told us that we were not allowed to drink it and to just throw it, before going through the metal detectors.

Catalina Island, California

5 out of 5
Nice port. We didn't plan an excursion and only went into town to walk around and to get some ice cream.

Ensenada, Mexico Did not visit port

Our grandsons decided to stay on the ship to swim and eat.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The disembarkation was excellent and went as planned.

Glad you had a good time! The porters at the terminal are typically not employed by the cruise ship. We always tip a couple dollars a bag when we drop our luggage off with them. If for anything but the fact that we don't have to lug it around with us til our ro is ready. Worth it to us for sure!
