Being first timers and really not doing anything on the ship but eat, drink and relax it was an awesome experience for us. The staff that we met were all super nice. From Maha who kept our cabin clean, to Fernando and his 2 partners in the ships fun shop, to Darius and the other couple guys that worked at many of the bars on ship and he made a very good old fashioned. Everyone that we had interaction with was very nice and helpful.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Overall living in Maryland and cruising out of Baltimore was very easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We didn't do ant specialty restaurants but the dining room and buffets were always clean, well run and the food was always good except I had 1 meal in 7 days that I was disappointed in in the dining room or I would have given a 5.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
N/A (but we didn't want it to effect the rating) We didn't really do any on board activities because a lot of the time the weather was sketchy. We were on this cruise for our 20th wedding anniversary and when we got to Bermuda I had surprises for my wife for the 2 days that we were there. Can't really rate because we mostly ate, drank and relaxed on ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We could have been more pleased with the staff and service that we received on board.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Being a first timer I guess the layout was good (of course we got turned around a few times) but there are signs all over if you take time to look at them to let you know where things are compared to you. Everywhere was well lit and constantly being cleaned.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Again first timers so I thought that the rooms would have been a little bit bigger but for the 2 of us it was big enough plus we took way to much stuff with us. next time we will know better. The bed was very comfortable, the cabin was always clean and the towel characters were very cool.
Leaving from Baltimore since we live in Maryland for our first cruise was perfect. It was a very easy getting on since this was our first time and coming home and getting off was even easier with the new facial recognition option.
Getting off and on the ship here was very easy to just show your sail and sign card with your ID. We did do the Dolphin quest swim with the dolphins experience and it was awesome. I could have booked this through Carnival but I had certain plans so I booked it online directly through Dolphin Quest and paid for the picture option. I could have saved some money doing it through carnival but I booked it way early because it was something that my wife really wanted to do. happy wife happy life!
Getting off of the ship was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. They pick up your luggage the night before and then stage it for you when you can disembark. The worst part was waiting between the time you have to be out of your cabin and actually leaving the ship but they do have breakfast available while you are waiting.
Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. Appreciate your detailed review and first time observations. You have the perfect attitude for cruising. Glad you enjoyed your anniversary cruise. Wishing you many more cruises and anniversaries!
