Review summary

Overall, our highlights were one particularly good comedian and some quality photography from the shipboard studio.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was pretty good, but I would not rate the overall experience as 5 star gourmet. There were some unique choices, such as escargot as an appetizer. Wait staff was sharp the first 2 days and then fell off drastically. On the first formal night, the dress code was NOT enforced. We had a woman in our section that was dressed like she wanted her picture in people of WalMart. She had an ample behind in a pair of cutoff sweatpants, Daisy Duke style. Dining room staff should have asked her to leave.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Vegas style show was OK. Comedians were hilarious.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was excellent. She always had a bright, warm smile anytime we saw her in the hall. She responded to any and all requests quickly.

Ship Quality

The elevators need serous reprogramming.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Got a note the night before we landed in Freeport that our excursion had been cancelled. The excursion office was closed for the evening, so we had to get up early to make new arrangements. The replacement excursion was just so-so.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Due to a very late arrival, priority disembarkation seemed to get lost in the confusion. Everyone was coming down the forward elevators. Both the port and starboard elevators operated on a single button process. In this situation, the elevators should be put in a program mode that allows each side to work independently. Every time the cruise director announced another group to go to the elevators, he "begged" our indulgence to remember to rate the service in our reviews, not the curve balls that mother nature handed to us with bad weather. He did this EVERY time he announced another group. After about the 6th time, it became very patronizing.

Traveler Photos

We had some rough seas for 2 days on the return trip.
