King's Wharf, Bermuda Did not visit port

Weather diverted our trip to Bahamas...was disappointed that we were not reimbursed for some of the trip as trips to Bermuda are more expensive than going to Bahamas

I just booked a cruise for Nov. 2019 & will be receiving a 25% refund from the Bermuda cruise (- port fees taxes already credited) towards my new cruisešŸ˜€

I was extremely disappointed in missing Bermuda as I had just done the Bahamas in April & would never have booked the same itinerary in September especially at the higher cost. But I also know September is ā€œHurricaneā€ season. Iā€™ve never been to Bermuda & now may never get therešŸ˜©. Iā€™m very grateful to the Captain that we stayed out of rough waters & we all had a safe cruise w/mostly beautiful weather. We did receive the difference in port taxes/fees as an on board credit. We also were told we would receive a 25% future cruise credit, but Iā€™ve yet to receive any documentation on that & Iā€™m in the process of booking a cruise for next year. My rep @ Carnival doesnā€™t know anything about the 25% either. She is going to speak w/a supervisor & get back to me. She said the folks on the next cruise (9/16) were getting refunds. I will post when I hear the answer.

Cbcruisin and cbyron3. Ditto. You are correct.

cbyron3    6 years ago

No way they pocketed the difference in port fees. They never did in the past when they changed or cancelled ports for me.

cbcruisin    6 years ago

I'm sure the difference in port taxes & fees were refunded to you

I was on this cruise they gave us 25% off our next cruise I'm sure you got the same offer as well it sucked not going to Bermuda for sure but my group had an excellent time no complaints from us

I agree in can be frustrating when ports are switched and Bermuda is better than Bahamas in my opinion, but the cruise line can't control weather and has the ability to switch ports for the safety of its passengers. I'm surprised no compensation was offered. RCCL offered cpmpensation for the same situation.

Read your contract!

That would be disappointing

Cruise lines can change ports with no come back. Did you not read T&C before booking
