Review summary

Overall, this was an enjoyable cruise. It had all of the usual expectations for a cruise and the service was commendable.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Onboarding was the best I have ever experiences. Offboarding wasn't bad, but it seemed a little slow.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I have had better cruise dining, but the food was good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I used the pool, fitness center, and the water slides ... as well as ping pong and miniature golf.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Loved the comedy shows and the 80's variety show. We also enjoyed the DJs at the deck parties and the Rex night club.

Children's Programs

Didn't bring children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Manny took great care of our cabin, and overall all of my interactions with the wait staff were good.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clearly an older ship, but given that it was clean and appeared well-maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin seemed larger than recent cruises I have taken ... maybe the older ships had slightly larger interior cabins? I really enjoyed the great water pressure available in the shower.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida Did not visit port

We simply chose not to ... we have family in the area so we didn't need to use the cruise as an excuse to visit the Tampa area.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
I like the fact that the main shopping district is within walking distance along with several eateries (many on the water). The only downside is that there was no "nice" beach within walking distance that we could find.

Montego Bay, Jamaica

3 out of 5
I prefer ports where there are "things to do" within walking distance. This port required transportation to pretty much anything a tourist would want to do. Moreover, the 1 beach that the $25 shuttle stopped at was a bit pricey to use ($8 per person just to use it and an additional $21 for an umbrella and 2 chairs). We instead chose to hang out at the Margaritaville to enjoy drinks and the free waterpark there. This was the saving grace of this port stop.

George Town, Grand Cayman

3 out of 5
Again, my main complaint is that there is very little available within walking distance of the port. We only hit a few touristy shops for an hour and then went back to the ship.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Slower than the embarkation, but not bad.
