Review summary

Five day cruise originally going to Key West and Havana Cuba. The ports changed to Grand Cayman and Cozumel after Cuba was put on the no travel list. The ship was small, but well maintained.

Embarkation

This was our second time boarding at 1 PM. Got to say, I love the later check in. No lines and we only had to wait a few minutes to get into our cabin. The staff seemed to push everyone to the Lido deck for lunch. It was difficult to find a seat. Lots of people sitting in the buffet area but not eating. There was an empty lounge with a ton of seating one deck lower on the aft end. Would have been nice if staff would have asked families not eating to move down a deck and free tables up for those eating.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had Your Time Dinning. The staff has been great but a little scatter brained; brining is food we didn’t order. The food portions have been more generous that other ships we have been on.

Elation Dining Room

Great views from everywhere on the room!

Onboard Activities

Enjoyed the morning show; by far the funniest group so far!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We typically don’t watch many shows but we caught the last 20 minutes of the 80’s and we enjoyed it. A negative for the ship is the missing seaside theater. On other ships we have enjoyed the late night movies and popcorn.

Ship Quality

The ship is clean, but I do prefer the larger ships!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was a little smaller that I expected. Only one small stool to sit on other than the bed. Cabin was clean and ready upon arrival. The fridge is small and we had to move the shelf to stand our water up. The cabin has been renovated and have 4 USB plugs and 2 power outlets; plenty of space to charge everything. The bathroom layout is a little different and not much storage for hygiene products. The bathroom is also not well ventilated and the steam for the shower fogs everything up. The plus’s here is the bathroom door can be opened completely and there is a magnet that will hold it open when not in use.

Ship tip

I like to explore the ship looking fo spots off the beaten path. Look at Lido deck forward and you can find outdoor space that is shaded. There is also a walk a crossed deck in front of the bridge that is good for pictures.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

We had an all day excursion and didn’t get to walk around town. We did the dolphin swim and 7 mile beach. The dolphin swim was awesome but they don’t let you take a camera to the pool. We ended up buying their photos. The package was for all digital photos and T-shirt’s for $220 US currency. The beach trip was to Coral Beach. The beach was awesome and the water gets deep pretty fast. We had lunch and a couple drinks. When the check arrived there was a 15% surcharge added. I asked the waitress what that was for and she told me it was a group gratuity. Glad I asked because I would have added a 15% to 20% tip had I not asked. Prices were in Caymen dollars.

Cozumel, Mexico

We got off the ship and walked around the port. We enjoyed a relaxing day shopping for a few souvenirs.

Disembarkation

What I liked was the announcement that we were following a strict process and not to show up on deck 7 before being called. So far so good! An improve is everyone sitting at the tables in the buffet area not eating. It is hard for the people actually eating to find a seat. There is a huge opportunity for the crew to ask passengers to move to other seating areas to wait.
