Review summary

I enjoyed the cruise overall. I found I enjoy the bigger ships that have more entertainment options. The people on the cruise were friendlier than those on the bigger ships though.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was very easy and moved quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was generally very good. The buffet was okay but limited. The Guys Burger was the best burger and fries I think I've ever had! I wish they had a restaurant near us! The Blue Iguana was good but their toppings bar is what made it better.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Only one pool so consistently crowded so didn't try. We tried the hot tub on the adults section but it wasn't really that hot but it was relaxing. The cruise director Leon was one of the best - great and engaging personality. His crew were very good also. The trivia contests and karaoke was fun. We also enjoyed the towel animal class!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were well done musicals and had us singing along. The comics were okay and had a lot of people laughing. There was a guy singing in the atrium bar that was fantastic. He had a great voice and easy performing manner.

Children's Programs

no small kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Only had one person who was grouchy. Everyone else was great especially the main dining room staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very small which I knew going in so although I didn't care for the layout of it I did expect it. It was kept extremely clean and was constantly being maintained by crew.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had 3 in our room and it worked out just fine. We each had a twin bed with room for storage.

Ship tip

We experienced a lot of rocking due to weather and small size of ship. Stay in the mid section or take something if you think you may get seasick.

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

3 out of 5
Just went back and forth to the ship - didn't do any excursions.

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
The section by the port was boring. I did enjoy the excursion - we did kayaks and a snorkeling trip to the stingray area. The waters were very choppy though and couldn't really enjoy the stingrays.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
We went to the Chankaab Beach resort for our excursion. We loved it. The snorkeling was awesome and could see fish and the underwater statue of Jesus. Food in the buffet was decent although the included drinks were small and weak. The tequila tasting was great and we bought 3 bottles. The area is beautiful and well maintained. The port is fun to check out but beware the vendors once you leave the port area - it was "Attack of the Vendors".

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was well done and easily understood.

True, the small ships crowd are much friendlier but the ships are also much older. We try to see and do everything we can on the cruise and don’t really see much difference between the smaller and mega ships as far as entertainment options.

Nice balanced review. Glad you understood the trade-off of cruising on a smaller ship. Each class of ship has something that makes it unique!
