Review summary
This was our First and Last Cruise on Carnival. Food and Entertainment were disappointing for the price paid for a cruise. We have had better experience on Princess and Royal Caribbean.Embarkation

The Dinner meals were underwhelming and not of the quality and flavor that we have experienced on 2 previous cruises (other cruise lines). Main courses lacked variety and what was selected were just okay. One night I was served a thin slab of Prime Rib (3/8") with large area's of fat. The au jus was thick as syrup. My wife had a "brick" of Lasagna with no marinara sauce to be found. A spinach pate stuffed Mushroom appetizer was horrible. A Creme Brule dessert was served with carmelized sugar so dense it was removed intact and had to be set aside. These are the worst examples of our meals, but the others were not much better. One Star for the Dinner Meal That said, our wait staff team of Connie and Andrea were excellent. They were attentive and looked to offer alternatives when we voiced that a meal did not meet expectations. They provided the service we expect from a cruise experience, just could not fix the food.
