Review summary

all in all - this was a great cruise, I loved the ship - hated the smoke in the casino - loved the food and the service, hated the lack of access to the pool or hot tub for the disabled. Missed Key west due to the storm, but we will go again in the future.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Due to traffic we arrived a bit after our allotted time, but there was no crowd awaiting so we went right through and were signed up and on the ship within about 15 minutes total.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Really miss being able to get the smoked salmon delivered to my room with my coffee, but all in all the food was good and the service in the dining room was wonderful and the staff was friendly as always. LOVE the sea day brunches.

Onboard Activities

I enjoyed the pool and hot tub, but Carnival has still not opted to make any pool or hot tub accessible to the wheelchair patron so all are totally un-usable for my husband. We did enjoy all the shows we saw. HATED all the smoke in the casino. they do not have ANY non-smoking machines any longer. to think that when this ship was christened, it was the first Non-smoking ship, ( no smoking allowed anywhere), and now you can't even get near the casino without a gas mask.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
we really enjoyed stopping to listen to the varied performers throughout the ship

Children's Programs

no kids with us - yea !!!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
staff was great and always helpful.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
everyplace we were was clean and attractive. There was one of the atrium elevators was out of service for the entire cruise. ( this is one reason why they did not get the 5 stars here). Also, still can't understand why Carnival has not caught up with the rest of the industry and installed at least one lift at a pool and one at a hot tub for their disabled guest.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
room was great. there was enough space to be able to turn the wheelchair and for my husband to get where he needed to go. This will be my room the next time I am on this ship and there will be a next time.

Ship tip

Don't worry about the small stuff and enjoy yourself.

Disembarkation

the only real issue I had was the use of the mid elevators that were right at the casino and even though the bar and the casino were closed, everyone was still smoking in the area so it was impossible to wait there. After a chat with one of the crew, we were allowed to go down and wait in a different area. everything from there were great
