Review summary

All and all it was the least enjoyable of our almost 30 cruises we've ever been on. We've been on several Carnival cruises before and never experienced the amount of children ( young and teens) uncontrolled and unsupervised roaming and running around all hours of the day and night. We've never experienced a cruise buffet with such a limited variety of food. Also the quality was subpar. I find it outrageous the the bacon needs to be rationed. We're on a cruise, not a high school cafeteria. The production show entertainment seemed very amateurish. We have seen numerous shows onboard that could complete with anything on Broadway. The over 18 teens and adults felt the comedians were demeaning to women, rude, and just not funny or entertaining. As a group, our grandchildren, aged 17,19,20,and 21, their parents, who asked us ,the grandparents, to go on Carnival again instead of Princess again, have changed their mind. They rather do a Princess cruise. Our grandchildren felt very uncomfortable, especially the girls, with the hoards of kids, mostly teen boys roaming all over the ship.

Embarkation

Traffic in the terminal was a nightmare. Check In was a breeze

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Dining room was excellent, buffet was limited selection and poor quality. Italian restaurant was wonderful.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Grandchildren used the pool and fitness center

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Production show and performers were very poor. They did not have professional voices or dancing that I am used to on cruises.

Children's Programs

Our teen grandchildren did not attend

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our Team Lead Server, Sreeshan , was outstanding. He was very accommodating to fussy eaters. He was friendly and a pleasure to have as our server. Are was room steward. He was very attentive and friendly. He also greetedus with a smile and a friendly hello

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The common areas were always clean, but we thought the layout of the ship was awful. Venues seemed small for the amount of passengers that needed to be accommodated. There was not a good flow from one area to another

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was what we would expect for the category.

Ship tip

If you are looking for a relaxing experience, either spend time in the spa, adult only pool, or find a different cruise.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
It was sheer chaos. Poorly organized as to having designated areas for guests to wait to disembark. Having everyone told to wait on lido deck or deck 5 was impossible. People were sitting on the floor because there wasn't enough room for everyone. It resembled an airport where thousands of people had delayed flights. In addition to the poor organization, the elevators were not functioning properly so we had to take the stairs with our carry-on bags and any addition things we needed to carry

Didn't care for the Panorama very much but our stops in Mexico were awesome I blocked the kids out I stay away from them try to hang out near the back pool where there are less children. The most amazing thing was staying on the Queen Mary which is docked beside the carnival dock awesome awesome time highly recommended most people don't know you can stay aboard there it's amazing.

Me and my wife leave in 9 days. This will be our 2nd Carnival cruise, but 1st in almost 20yrs. We are not going with high expectations because we are expecting a lot of unruly kids to be on this ship. We took this trip due to the port of calls. The Panorama is a newer ship and should be in good shape. I've paid for and scheduled alot of specialty dining to keep us out of the buffet. We try to avoid the buffet on every ship we go on. Thanks for the information, and wish us luck.

Welcome to Carnival when school is not in session. I, too, had a very unpleasant, similar Carnival cruise experience over the Thanksgiving holiday break. Never again. I refuse to go over holidays, spring break and during the summer months for this very reason. Sorry it was a bust.
