Review summary

I would go on this cruise again on this ship but not during Spring break time. No masks were mandated which was nice and those who chose to wear them did. I guess Spring break runs differently in other states. In our area ours Spring break is not until mid April. It was nice to see all the families and children enjoying themselves just pool time was difficult with the size of pools to the amount of children/adults on board.

Embarkation

We drove to the port. Check in was 1-1:30 pm. We arrived 45 minutes early and checked in. Had about a 30 minute wait before we boarded once we finished check in. I sure miss the old way when Platinum members could get on once through check in. But it was organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Panorama has many options for food. The Blue Iguana had the best fish tacos and all the goodies on embarkation day. The Lido salad bar was great. All the food was fresh and looked new. The staff kept it stocked and clean. Lots of options for food items as well. The Main dinning room Vista was nice. We were sat quickly but our table was very close to another and it was hard to have a conversation when you know others can hear you. Food was very good and service was a little disorganized but they tried. It was not a busy time when we were there. The Italian restaurant we ate at on a port day. The service was very good. I had the best eggplant parmigiana and plenty to eat. There were 4 in our party so we all shared what we ordered. We are at the Steakhouse snd had plenty to eat. Also ate at the Pig and Anchor. The baby back ribs were so tender finish your

Onboard Activities

The sail away party was fun and exciting. The Cruise Director Christian kept the crowds entertained the whole time. The main shows were very good. The Light up show on Lido was exciting lots of energy. The Violin trio at the Alchemy Bar were excellent and all 3 of them were from Ukraine. All there families were moved out of Ukraine with Carnivals help and they are safe. The Karaoke had some great singers but the contest but none of them got chosen since so many out their names in and only six people were picked and none of the good ones were picked. The 50th Cruise Anniversary trivia was hard but fun and a good crowd. The main pool is small on LidoDeck and full of children this cruise. The aft pool and 2 spas were also packed with children. The Serenity deck had a great salad bar and 2 spas but unless you got there early there was no room. The fitness center was good size and had plenty of equipment options fitness center had all the workout equipment you need and was good size.

Entertainment

Main shows were very good. DJ’s on Lido was great. The musicians we listened to were very good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff were very attentive to us and our needs. Sonja one if the bartenders at the Panorama Alchemy bar was the best!!! Our cabin steward, was superb but I forgot his name 😳

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the new smell of the Panorama and how new and beautiful it was. A very different lay out than the last few ships we were on. The elevators we never tied up with luggage and hardly a wait.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We had an inside cabin which was nice. Only complaint was either the floor above or room next to us would start making noise about 6:30 every morning. I was told they were staff quarters or house cleaning carts That were heard ?

Ship tip

Enjoy the ship. It is large and beautiful and very clean but we never felt crowded unless you are at guys burger or got breakfast burritos in the morning at Blue Iguana, although the food in both were delicious.

Ports of call

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Beautiful place. Walmart is across the street if you needed anything that you forgot. The port shopping is new snd still filling up some of the shops. Our excursion was in the evening and called Rhythms of the night!!! I highly recommend this for people who do not use any assistive walking or sitting devices because the terrain is Rocky and hilly. The price provide the hour boat ride, free drinks, entertainment on board, dinner, more drinks snd a great show and a boat ride back.

Mazatlan, Mexico

We did the Hop on and Hop off bus. Walked around a bit. Not a beautiful place. Lots of construction going on to build high rises.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
As a Platinum member we were told to be at the Vista Restaurant by 9 to be walked off the ship. We got there before 9 and were told they already took the members off so we were told to get in the main line to disembark. We got there at 8:50 so really watch the time. The disembark process was fast and easy once we got off the ship.

Thanks for a good review, we will be going in September, Do you still have to get covid-19 test before cruise and do they offer it at the Port?

Appreciate your feedback. Spring Break I’d always a challenge. We try to avoid cruising mid-March thru mid-April. Even then we sometimes catch a small group (March 6th this year). Glad you enjoyed your cruise in spite of it.
