Review summary

I was thrilled to be able to cruise again but was a bit disappointed in the variety of food offered and also the time we spent in Cabo San Lucas.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very Smooth

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The selection of food was good but a bit limited. Service was great!

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We did not utilize the fitness center or participate in any type of sports activities. The pool and hot tubs were really nice.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Entertainment in the ship’s stage shows was very limited which was a bit disappointing but understandable as this is a recent return to cruising.

Children's Programs

No children were staying with us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was great from all staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was a handicap accessible room which included a roll in shower with a seat. This was great for my husband.

Ship tip

Don’t expect the same food or entertainment experience as you had prior to Covid. It’s great to cruise again thus we need to give the cruise lines a chance to recover.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
Port flowed well. We did not do an excursion.

Mazatlan, Mexico

4 out of 5
Did a tour as I wanted to see their progression on their improvements along the Malacon since our last visit there about 4 years ago. Much has been completed but much is still under construction.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
I absolutely love Cabo San Lucas! It’s a beautiful place to stay/visit! Unfortunately our stay on this cruise was much to short!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very smooth and timely!

Even though the food and entertainment are not up to pre-Covid, you cannot beat, no cooking, no cleaning, no packing/unpacking from place to place that cruising allows!❤️

I looked at MDR menus published in July and was impressed, do you think they’ve changed since then? Trying to plan specialty restaurant nights around the MDR menu so appreciate feedback. https://profcruise.com/carnival-menus-2021-main-dining-room-dinner-menus-on-7-day-cruises/

Thanks for the review. Flexibility and lowered expectations seem to be the key to enjoying a cruise currently.
