Review summary

We had a really great time! This is a very family friendly ship and we were able to make friends and enjoy ourselves. The weather really ranged. The sea days were windy and cold. Port days were hot and humid.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We arrived about 30 minutes early but were able to get right on with almost no wait. Our room was ready earlier than they said it would be as well. The whole process was super easy and stress free.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We bought the Cheers package and I think it was totally worth it. I liked that the coffee stand was included as well as bottles of water. Some of the food/drinks were great and some were not. To be expected I think. We didn’t do any specialty restaurants. Guys Burgers and the Pizza were my favorite. My husband liked the BBQ a lot. We went for lunch so it was included. We chose MyTime dining and I wouldn’t do that again. I prefer having the same team all week so they get to know us. Tip: When getting burgers/BBQ, there’s a line on each side. One line was always much shorter.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did everything except the ropes course. It was all super fun and you cannot be bored on this ship. The SkyRide and SkyZone were some of our favorites. Husband liked the gym. It’s big and new and nice. The back of the ship by the pizza seemed to be where all the kids were so we did that with our 3 y/o and he made friends. When he went to Camp Ocean we were at the main pool or Serenity. All were fun/relaxing.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I really can’t say too much about this because we didn’t see many shows (traveling with the 3 y/o). We walked into one and left because we didn’t like it. We did see some very talented musicians and that was awesome!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My very shy 3 y/o actually asked to go to Camp Ocean. They have cool toys and new ones every day. The club is clean and a very cool space. The staff are amazing! The characters around the ship were really cool. The parade was meh. We didn’t do the breakfast.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Hit or miss but mostly very friendly and helpful.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
People were constantly cleaning but there were also some messy spots. The layout is awesome. They really nailed it in my opinion. So much beautiful outdoor seating and easy to get around. I wanted to see more staff with hand sanitizer at the buffet and restaurant. There were sanitizer stands but signs in front of them so no one was using it. Grossed me out a bit but I’m a germaphobe.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
My only complaint is that there is a safety light that you cannot turn off on the balcony. It made it impossible to get the room totally dark. Here’s a great review. https://youtu.be/8JooZuah6VE

Ports of call

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
We went to Stone Island. It’s a 15 minute walk from the cruise terminal to the water taxi stand. You can watch YouTube video on how to get there. $2 for a water taxi round trip. This was my favorite beach. It’s quiet and gorgeous. The water is calm. We paid $30 for 2 beach chairs, 2 buckets of beer, and chips and guacamole. Easy to do with the 3 y/o.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
We walked around the port to Medano Beach and then took a water taxi back to the tender. Beach chairs are free as long as you buy food/drinks. It was warm enough to lay out and put feet in the water. Not warm enough to swim for me.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
We drove from San Diego and parked at the port. $180ish. Very easy and organized.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and easy. Very well organized. We carried our luggage off ourselves.

We noticed that line imbalance at the burger joint, some people just do not look. Looking forward to boarding in May.

We had your time dining and requested the same staff each night. We came around the same time and usually had the same table. This was on the 14 day Freedom cruise that we got off of yesterday. It was wonderful and everyone we encountered had a smile on their face.
