A: Lyft or Uber is going to be cost-effective and reliable. "Best" and "cheapest" are two different things in life though and typically don't go hand-in-hand.

A: Try this number. (855) 724-2211. It is a company called Helping Hands Shuttle. It is $25.00 per person from LAX to the queen Mary. We are going to try it on December 5th. Keeping fingers crossed.

A: How many people in your party? If you have a group, a dedicated shuttle may be best for you. If not, we have found an Uber/Lyft works just fine... Enjoy the Queen Mary!

A: just remember that they market to families. summer vacation, spring break, and holidays should be expected to have a bunch of rug rats running around.
Answered by jallaway on September 11, 2023
A: Depends on the time of year. We typically avoid holidays and vacation/break timing to minimize the children. We sailed Panorama right before spring break 2023 and it was fine.

Answered by Leerock on August 18, 2023
A: You can always ask Guest Services if any upgrades are available to purchase.
Answered by willwork4cruz on August 23, 2023
A: Do a mock booking at Carnival.com just before you leave and see if there are any rooms available. Most Panorama sailings are sold out.
Answered by 4Kerrie on August 19, 2023
A: I have never had any luck asking at guest services. I have been told by them that they can’t but I am really not sure.

Q: has anyone used the pre-paid crusie cash instead of their credit cards? hoe does it work?

A: We always use Cruise Cash that we purchase ahead of time. We'll start months ahead and, every now and then, purchase cruise cash $100 at a time to build up a pot of money to spend out of. We don't get the drink package, we buy drinks out of our accou... nt . We link a credit card but if anything is on it at the end, it's not much (unless I find a good watch or my wife starts looking at good purses 😮). Here's a tip that you may or may not need: There has been a $500 limit on purchasing cruise cash (not sure now) but if we hit that before a long cruise, we'll start purchasing Bar Cash. No limit there and there's no dif in spending- it all goes into and spends out of, the same pot of money. This may not work for everyone but it works very well for us... Good luck!See More

A: Good if used as a gift. Don’t forget them at home. Any.cash left on card is lost once if applied to your sail card and not used BUT if you use card in the casino you can cash out, it’s a resource to avoid dropping down a cc for onboard purchases.
Answered by gmcguire on June 10, 2023
A: Yes. It's loaded on to your sign n sail account. Transactions are deducted as you use the funds.

Q: Hello. We are scheduled to arrive in LGB around 9:00am, well ahead of our check-in time of 1:30-2:00pm. Is Carnival strict in making passengers wait until their designated time slot? Or is there a chance they will let us onboard sooner?

A: I'd suggest stopping somewhere in Long Beach for lunch first.
Answered by Kracka on February 22, 2023
A: They have been pretty strict since the restart. I have been on 4 cruises out of Long Beach and they are definitely having people wait in section until the correct time.

A: This port is a well-oiled machine! Arrive earlier than your time but not too early. Last summer we got there an hour before our tima and they let us in. The terminal is comfy and they know how to work it!
Answered by Tropicgal on February 23, 2023
A: like another said, they make you stand in a line for each half hour arrival time. But if things go smoothly, they bring the lines in as soon as the previous lines are through. when I sailed it looked all the lines were in by noon.

A: In my experience, at the very latest 8:30 am off the ship. Been there 3X.
Answered by vmanary on February 6, 2023
A: We were off the ship by 8:30 or so, maybe even a little sooner. We carried our own luggage and since Carnival announced debarkation based on your Muster station we were one of the first groups to get off.

Answered by rbmacoy on February 1, 2023
A: Long Beach is closer to the port but costs more to fly to.
Answered by Deverehall on January 22, 2023
A: We used LGB. Smaller, more laid back atmosphere, and closer to the port as opposed to LAX, which can be a zoo. It depends on where you are coming in from but for us, flying out of SLC, it was cheaper than LAX, which was a bonus... good luck
Answered by Dutch3901 on January 23, 2023
A: Long Beach is much closer to the port and an easy airport to navigate. LAX is a mess. Which is best depends on where you are flying from. IMHO, check for prices to both airports and consider the combined effect of prices and airport hassles. Regar... dless, all will be better once you are on the ship. 😎See More

A: if you fly out of long beach make sure to use a hard lugage incase it rains. heard of many people getting to the boat and everything is soaked inside suitcase.
Answered by cruiser13456 on February 22, 2023
A: You will have many more options and likely lower fares if you fly to LAX.

A: Hotel Maya (a Doubletree hotel) is great. Very close to port, clean, and great location to walk around the marina. 700 Queensway Dr, Long Beach, CA 90802
Answered by BlueCattleDog on January 29, 2023
A: I agree that the Maya is wonderful. And within walking distance. Shuttle service, too. They also used to have a park and cruise special rate.
