Review summary

Not what it used to be. I did this cruise in 2016 and it felt safe and was more fun back then. Now after the restart staff are not prepared and undertrained. Cleaning protocol and covid mask protocol cause issues as they don't fully enforce them. Seen several people debark with a mask off at ports. It was nice having about 1,900 passengers instead of 2,600. Internet was not good on the ship as the mountains blocked signal for most of the cruise. Don't buy the internet package on the alaska cruise.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Food was no where near the quality as it was pre-covid. Most of the food was stale or not good. Only a few things were consistent in taste and quality (The hot coco, ice cream, guys burgers fries and all the fruit.)

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Activities where not good. Staff and entertainment was nothing near as good as pre-covid.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
1/15 staff I encountered gave great service. Rest didn't understand English and would fail at simple tasks and forget items requested at dinner. Even asked for fries only at guys and they gave me a burger and fries.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Basically zero covid protocol enforcement. Cleaning was not what I was expecting from all the signs they have up for how they have increased cleaning. By day 4 1/4 of passengers where coughing. By the last day over 1/2 of passengers where coughing and sneezing.

Ship tip

Wait awhile more til you cruise. Not worth it right now.

Wasn't able to get close enough to the glacier (heat wave melted ice too fast causing ice bergs.) Didn't want to pay $198/person to see the glacier up close.
