Carnival Miracle

15 Night Hawaii Carnival Journeys (Los Angeles Roundtrip)

Sail date: December 02, 2017

Ship: Carnival Miracle

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 1 year ago

Review summary

We stayed one night pre-cruise on the Queen Mary then boarded the Miracle. It was a neat experience! Four sea days to Hawaii proved to be too many sea days for me, what couldn't I do? Hawaii is beautiful and we are glad we went there. The weather turned cold and rainy upon our arrival in Mexico; we were only thrre for a few hours because of some law; we were quite ready to go home.

Embarkation

We stayed aboard the Queen Mary the night before embarkation. The Queen Mary is a beautiful ship; full of grace and style.

Our cabin was very nice! I could imagine how passengers in the day would have loved this stateroom.

Enjoy the Serenity Deck, it is the best!

Ports of call

Honolulu, Oahu

We visited Pearl Harbor and Honolulu. The Pearl is humbling. We were there on December 8 so many of the wreaths were still in place from the previous day's memorial.

Nawiliwili, Kauai

Kauai was our favorite port. The natural beauty of the island was a welcome sight. We booked a helicopter tour with Blue Hawaii Helicopter Tours. Beth, our pilot was wonderful and an excellent pilot.

Ensenada, Mexico

We only stopped here because of the law requiring us to visit one foriegn port during any domestic cruise. We don't have anything against Mexico, we were just ready to go home after two weeks in Hawaii.

Hilo, Hawaii

4 out of 5
We hired a tour guide who drove us around Hilo.

Kailua-Kona, Hawaii

We rented a car and drove to a coffee plantation, stopping at points of interest along the way.

Kahului, Maui

After a chaotic disembarkation, we boarded a bus that took us up 10,000 feet to the top of a crater whose name I will not try to spell. It was 84 degrees at the port and 34 degrees on top of the crater. The week before had white out conditions from snow on top of this crater.
