Review summary

Overall it was a great cruise. I'm really hard to please because I notice all the little things (strong type A personality). However, I am going on this same cruise again in Sept with my mother only. I will ask for the same room steward and dining staff, if possible. I will go to the same shows plus many more the next time. I may not go for the suite since it's only 2 adults next time instead of 4 adults this trip. I don't cruise for the food and drinks. I cruise for the experience, low stress process and the ports and enjoy a few drinks and some food.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We showed up a few minutes before our listed time for embarkation. We had a suite so we went through the Diamond line, and it was empty but there were only a few people in the regular line waiting.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I have always felt the food was just okay, the buffets are really the same. You can try different foods but they don't really taste like they are supposed to. The cakes are not really sweet, the brunch food is average. I didn't eat at any of the high occupancy lines, like the burgers. The pizza was good, not great. Everything tasted like it needed a seasoning of some kind, basil, oregano, salt.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We really never do much on board because we go with a large family group and socializing is a big part of that process. However, we did spend time on Serenity and it was lovely. You still get the over indulgers but they aren't as common on a 7 day cruise.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Entertainment was good, we only went to one show and one comedy show, however both were good. The main stage entertainment looked like it needed a little diversity. It was an 80's music show but the second half was just Micheal Jackson songs. They were good performances but one song would have been fine and then showcase other artists. The stage show itself was really great.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We ordered room service five times and it was typically a light order but they got it wrong four of those times. I wish I had checked the order before I tipped. One order for an early breakfast before an excursion was supposed to have gravy and it was provided, but it was cold and congealed in a little cup, more like a jelly than a gravy. Our steward seemed to be off her game the first few days, we didn't have ice in the room when we boarded (never had that happen). I had to request ice on 3 of the 7 days. Otherwise the room was taken care of twice a day (maybe because we had a suite?) though I did request twice. Our waitstaff was great and attentive after the first day craziness. Our waitstaff even took care of us on the lido when they saw us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I loved the layout, but my first cruise was another in the same line. I don't mind the activity floors being mainly deck 2 and deck 3 with the lido being on deck 9. Everything looked well maintained overall, there were a few missing pieces here and there but that's normal on a ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
LOVED the cabin, a suite will spoil you. The cabin was very well maintained for being occupied every day for over 10 years, sincerely didn't look 6 months old.

Ship tip

Book a balcony!. This is one of the ships with a lot of balconies and it's worth the peace and open space.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

Loved the Stingray Tour, highly recommended, great guides and overall tour. Had lunch as Cayman Cabana on the way back, great food but be advised prices are a little high, worth every penny.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Went to Daniel Johnson's Monkey and Sloth hangout and took an island tour (booked direct but offered through cruise). Learned about the island from an amazing tour guide. Highly recommended.

Belize City, Belize

4 out of 5
I left the protected port area by myself (not the best idea for a female alone) but I found a few local artists to purchase woodwork from and walked to the museum for a tour. I obtained a tour guide, I'm not sure it was my choice but he turned out the be great and it helped me feel safer that he knew everyone.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Didn't have a plan originally, went outside the gates and was met by a tour guide. Went to a private club to the north (the south is seaweed covered beaches). The beached here are rocky, recommend aqua socks. Didn't include drinks of dinner by was able to get from a waiter. Amazing food from "Buccanos". Also got henna tattoos right there that we all loved.

Disembarkation

Again, being a suite member we could get off early. It was grab your bags and start walking, the only holdup was at customs but that went pretty quick for customs. 5 min in line total for customs.
