Review summary

Overall e joyed the cruise and the staff, time for newer ship, found Miracle boring. Serenity area is just plain gross, not much else going on that interested us. Quite a few kids and a general lack of supervision by parents. No fun when on elevators not once, twice but three times when ice cream cones were intentionally smashed on floor and all buttons pressed for each floor.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quick and painless although being Platinum cruisers helps Carnival appears to have improved their boarding process in Long Beach.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food in MDR was ok nothing special but much better than what they serve on Lido. Really enjoyed the Steakhouse food was great.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Time for a new ship that offers more choices. The serenity area is still disgusting with the cushions on chairs, lounges etc stained with other people's sweat. Just really gross and nothing we wanted any part of.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
We were on this cruise 5 weeks earlier and attended all the shows and a couple comedy acts. Once was enough.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
From Jannette our room steward, Virgil our head waiter and his team to Angelica at guest services they were great kudos to them!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Old and boring design, although we were impressed with cleanliness of our cabin.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Exceeded our expectations especially when compared to aft facing cabins. Forward starboard and port much nicer than the vibrations in aft.

Ship tip

Do not book aft cabins they vibrate the entire cruise and the balcony is filthy.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California Did not visit port

Spent night in hotel is all.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Did not visit port

Did not leave ship we cruise for sea days not for ports.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico Did not visit port

Disembarkation

I agree.

Every ship we have been on with a Serenity deck had been absolutely peaceful.

Miracle was the ship that started my love for cruising. That serenity area has been the best on all the ships I have been on so far. Not sure what was gross about it.

Summer cruising, with lots of families, on an affordable vacation. That pretty much sums up your issues except the boring part. Carnival has your answer with the newer ships.

You are corrected: Carnival is now the Amazon.com of cruises.

18 cruises and never had a problem maybe the time of year you go ??? We found celebrity like a old people's home everyone in bed by 9pm what was gross about serenity ? I think you should of saved your money and stayed home as it seems would not have been happy with anything ... you were on vacation chill and don't be so up tight😎

I too share your thoughts. Carnival is the "Walmart" of cruise lines.
