Review summary

I sailed on the Carnival Miracle from April 22-29th with my two stepdaughters and their families ages 3-14. I have been on 15 cruises, many of them with Carnival. I must say, the fun factor is gone on Carnival. The lack of a social director out on deck during the midday is very noticeable. As are BBQs on deck. No live band during the noontime hours by pool. The Miracle sorely lacking in amenities. No outdoor movie screen (common these days), just one specialty restaurant, no special features other than mini-golf. You basically have two choices for food: buffet and main dining room. While we enjoyed the comic acts, the shows were all very similar singing and dancing with little variety. The water slide in the back of the ship was slow and poorly placed. The Dr. Suess characters need to be more visible. Movies are nice but you need to have at least one that is animated and geared for the 3-10 yr old crowd.

Could it be that you are going during a slower season? I heard during the summer when ships are packed there is much more excitement and energy around all the activities.

On the Carnival Miracle now. This is our 8th cruise and will definitely not take this ship ever again. Buffets are definitely not good. Main dining just so so. Public rest rooms are not kept up during the day. Trouble with our AC, it just wants to stay on cold even when we turn it to heat. Grrrr!

We were on same cruise. To his defense Adam was sick several days but I know what you're saying. I think that's why we drank more. I missed the outdoor theater and Guys but I knew that going in, we just wanted diff ports since we go east coast. Already booked 2 more so I'm over it

Many of these things, from the older slides to the lack of movie screen on deck are well known. You may want to research the ships a bit before your next cruise. Suggest Conquest class at a minimum, or Dream class for much better slides and on deck activities. I am fine with the smaller ships for a grown up getaway but with kids you have to pick a ship more carefully. Breeze would be good with kids.

I felt the very same way. Our trip was 4/15 to 4/22. Adam was NOT a good CD. My other complaint is that the morning shows were on the t.v., not live!
