Review summary

Enjoyed having two days in Cabo San Lucas. Having the two days gave us a chance to learn the port the first day and then day two, we were familiar with things and didn't waste any of  our shore time.  With that being said, I hate tendered ports.  I know they can not be helped, but 3 plus hours of our shore time on day one was dealing with getting off the ship and then getting back on the ship.  I would have liked to have been a tad better informed about how far away old town Puerto Vallarta and beach access were from the dock.  Maybe I should have studied up better on this port, but a cab was definitely a necessity. Really enjoyed that area of the town.  Overall, this was a fun and relaxing trip.

Our cabin was fine. Same set up as all cruises we have been on. First time in a while though that I feel like the A/C was working 100%. That was nice!! Don't know if this is the new thing for Carnival, but our fridge did not have anything it it. I never buy from it, but just thought it was weird that there wasn't anything in the fridge. On that note, the fridge was weird. Had to stabilize the whole fridge before opening the door as the fridge would just come completely out of the cabinet if we didn't. Then after accessing the fridge, had to push it back in to the cabinet or the cabinet door wouldn't close. Just kind of weird, like the fridge really didn't fit or something. Also, no robes provided (is this a new thing). I usually love sitting out on the balcony in that big thick robe as the sun is coming up. Finally, our cabin was only serviced once a day. Is this new, too? We have always had a morning and evening service. Not a huge deal as we are pretty neat in our cabin, but finding the usual evening towel animal at 10 in the morning just had a different feel to it, plus ice given in the a.m. was gone by the p.m. All this is minor stuff, but just different from our previous cruises.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Did not have the opportunity to really see or do anything in Long Beach.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Be prepared for losing shore time due to tendered port.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Be prepared to catch a taxi (or maybe the bus) to get to Old town Puerto Vallarta. Not much right around the port.
