Review summary
This was the first cruise for me and my girlfriend. We had been looking forward to the experience for some time. As the cruise day approached, we watched Youtube videos of Carnival Miracle and read up on tips from previous cruise goers. We also read information on the Carnival web site. All of this, gave us a heads up on what to expect.
We had an excellent experience throughout the cruise. We arrived early on Saturday, checked our baggage with the ship staff. Then went on a walking tour of the Queen Mary. After boarding Carnival Miracle, we started with the lunch buffet on deck 9 while watching the preparations to depart Long Beach port. Enjoyed the next day of sailing. We booked two shore excursions – one for Cabo San Lucas and one for Puerta Vallarta. Had a great time on both excursions. With a two-day halt in Cabo and a one-day halt in Puerta Vallarta, we had enough time to briefly explore each place. The Cabo land excursion included a catamaran ride to Land’s End and the Arch, which we enjoyed very much. After the two port calls, there were two days of sailing back to Long Beach.
Food was excellent on board and staff were great. We attended a couple of days of formal dining in the Bacchus dining room. Other wonderful memories include the 80’s music and the Motown songs nights. We spent a fair amount of time in the Serenity Pool area. Weather was good throughout. All said, many thanks to the Carnival staff. We could not have asked for a better first cruise experience and look forward to more sailing in the future.

Ship tip
Pack light and just sufficient for the trip. Couple of formal dresses for the formal dining nights. Definitely take advantage of the shore excursions - they are well organized and interesting. They are a good way to see the sights in a short amount of time.
