Review summary

I have been on the Miracle before and loved it so much that I booked this trip while on board for six months later.  I was a little nervous that a lot would be changed during the dry-dock between cruises.  Also, I was afraid that my expectations were high after my previous experience.  I was not disappointed.  If possible, the ship and her crew were even more impressive than the first time.  They didn't change the character of the ship with the new additions and the staff is the most amazing of all my thirteen cruises thus far. Our ocean-view room was right on the water line and perfect for viewing sealife (we saw dolphins, hammer-head sharks, sting rays and flying fish).  All areas of the ship were very clean and the crew was genuinely friendly and interested in making our vacation perfect.  The dining room staff was super proficient and professional.  The casino bar is the best place to get drinks since they make them quickly, strong and tasty.   Although I miss the live orchestra, the shows were surprisingly enjoyable and the comedy shows were tops!  My only disappointment was that I was never able to get in a clam-shell on the serenity deck.  People camp these out early in the morning and spend just enough time each hour in them to not break the 40min holding rule (which the crew did try to enforce but the guest figure ways around). We love both ports and had fantastic excursions.  I highly recommend the "Wild Dolphins and Snorkeling" in PV...it includes a once in a lifetime trip to an exotic hidden beach.  Embarkation, tendering and debarkation were easy as pie since we had "Faster to the Fun".   I have been home two weeks and I'm already having withdrawals...I am trying to figure out how to get back on my beloved Miracle ASAP.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Dining room and buffet food on Carnival is good...not five star gourmet...but good. The Miracle is above average compared to other Carnival ships. However, Nick and Nora's Steakhouse IS five star gourmet.

Cabin / Stateroom

This cabin was as low and forward as you can get. I was worried that the noise from the comedy club would disturb us but I never heard a thing. It was a great location, right next to the stairs and elevators. We only had to walk up the stairs to be where all the {inside} action was, or take the elevators to pop right out on the Lido deck.

Ship tip

Most of the fun stun is on deck 2 (casino, atrium, dining, Red Frog Pub, theater) or 9. Get in line early for the comedy shows as they are usually standing room early by showtime. Be sure to catch a show in the theater as well. Don't miss sea-day brunch in the dining room.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

It can be a little cool leaving or returning to Long Beach any time of year but all is good once you sail south.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Must make a trip to Marietas Islands and hidden beach.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

We won't pay for any more excursions here, it seems like you can pay for a water taxi to do the same trips at a fraction of cost.
