We've been on Miracle 3 times when it left out of NY. It is our favorite ship. We are now going on Pride and that is the same class as Miracle. I have a feeling we are gonna like it.

I always figured that Carnival's cabins were one of their redeeming features (at least the peasant class cabins -- don't know anything about the suites).

Spent 14 days on the miracle going from New York thru the panama canal and arriving in long beach calif.  Best cruise ever.  Loved the themes on each deck

I don't know exactly what the OP was so unhappy about, but I thoroughly enjoyed our 15-day Hawaii cruise on the Carnival Miracle.

Poster said two ports, Cruising CM, not islands. But I agree, hard to figure out what the review means, when a person makes only a single negative post it leaves a lot up to conjecture.

We have been through the Hawaiian Islands on ships three times, twice on HAL  and once on Princess. One on HAL and the one on Princess we were enroute from points in Asia and Australia sailing toward the States, on long cruises. The other on HAL was a round trip, from San Diego, South Pacific venture for a little over a month, we hit Hawaii before turning toward the South Pacific. Anyway, all of our ports on those cruises were great.

Our first trip to Hawaii, by air was 45 years ago. Since then I bet we have stayed a cumulated total of way over two years on the islands. We have made so many trips I lost count, but rarely did we go when we stayed less than three weeks.  Today my brother has owned a condo on the big island for over two decades, our daughter and family bought a real nice large one on the Kona Coast four years ago. Back twenty five years, my wife's brother owned one on Oahu for about a decade.

Alaska is closest to Hawaii of any state. The airport at Cold Bay used to be the jumping off point for light twin aircraft headed for Hawaii since it is 500 miles closer than any mainland airport. One time we made it back from Hawaii in four hours. Actually, in 1990 we were pretty much Hawaiied out and were contemplating what to do for a winter vacation when we decided to look into one of "these here cruises everybody is talking about".

During all our time spent there I have never had a problem with hostile indigenous locals and I get out and away a lot, both in the city and in the country side. Hawaii is a very safe place in my opinion. In fairness though, I have had good friends, Caucasian, who moved over there and complained about the disrespectful attitude toward outsiders by the locals. But that was a long time ago. About 40 years ago, the State of Hawaii undertook a concentrated awareness education program as to the extreme economic importance visitation has for their state. It worked and you hardly ever run into a local anymore with a chip on their shoulder.

Haw, found out what  a haol-e was the hard way did you?

This just shows that a bit of research before a cruise can be well worth the time.   Even ports in Hawaii can be "Disgusting".   I know about 30 years ago I was in Hawaii driving and took the wrong free way turn off and ended up in an area that was not a safe place for a tourist in a rental car (that was before the days of GPS).

Carnival cannot be blamed for the "disgusting" ports.....Interesting assessment.

I guess that Carnival is just not the ship for you.  The good news is that there are several other cruise lines to choose from.  I wish you better luck on your next cruise.  It is really a great way to travel.  Gloria
