Review summary

This was our second Carnival cruise and our first on the Miracle. The ship is beginning to show its use but still impressive. We had a Cat 9A stateroom and it was truly a wonderful surprise. A balcony with a lounger, two chairs and a table. Granite in the bathroom, lots of drawers (closets that light up when you open the door) a couch, chair with ottoman and plenty of leg room. A stateroom that was well appreciated on our sea days!!! We have done this itinerary on the Legend so we were familiar with the schedule and the ship. I must say that this being a summer cruise I was prepared for the kids and a bit worried about kids taking over the adult pool but the security officers on the ship did an excellent job reminding kids that they had their own pools. Please make sure you spend at least one night at the supper club "Nick and Nora's" it was the most amazing meal, you felt like you were on Iron Chef. San Juan was the first POC and we spent it at a beach resort, swimming in the waves and lounging by the ocean. We then went to an excellent dinner in town before returning to the ship. St. Thomas was our second POC and we decided to do something different and took the ferry to St. John's where we visited the famous Trunk Bay. Amazing weather and snorkeling. We then returned to St. Thomas to barter with the vendors for some gifts. Finally, Tortolla was the last POC. Now we have been here before and knew that we wanted to go to Brewer's Bay (one of the best snorkeling reefs). We got there before the beach was open around 8a.m. and jumped in and swam with a ton of underwater creatures including a small black tipped shark. Who was more interested in the fish and quite happy to let us take his picture. The next couple of sea days we recovered from our adventures by enjoying the sun on the Lido Deck, lots of pizza and a few drinks of the day!!!! The Carnival Shows were okay but seemed a little flat to me. The best shows on this cruise hands down are the passenger talent shows. They were worth the late nights and we had some hidden talent on that trip!!! Our return to NY was effortless and we have learned from the past to wait on the Lido deck enjoying coffee and breakfast until they call our number. It was about a 10 minute process once our number was called, we walked to our luggage and bid farewell to our ship.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We had the best beer and surf and turf at the Old Harbor Brewery. If you want to avoid the shops and fort make sure to visit Condado Beach for some great surf and sand.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Don't Miss: If you think Tortola is boring try taking the cab to Brewers Bay for some excellent snorkeling

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

St. Thomas is beautiful but the ferry to St. John's is worth a try if you want to get away from some of the hustle.

Pros: Excellent customer service, food was fantastic!!!

Cons: When getting off the ship in port the crew always had the shortest walk!?!
