Review summary

We took 16 family and friends with us and everyone had a terrific time. The ship was wonderful - easy to get around and in good shape. The decor is a little strange but overall we couldn't have been happier with the cruise and the ship. The cabins were the best we have ever had - large, roomy, and well appointed. We all had balcony rooms and that really added to the cruise. We opened up the balcony dividers between our rooms and enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the mornings and late afternoons.

Was torn between the jungle zip line and cave tubing and chose cave tubing. Had a wonderful time once we got to the river and were able to tube through the caves. The 1 1/2 hour bus ride to the location wasn't too bad, but many people had difficulty walking the 45 minutes through the jungle on a slippery path. We had good water/walking shoes so we did not have any trouble but a number of people slipped and fell on the walk. Our guide was terrific and made the excursion a lot of fun.

Do not do the Off-road Jeep Jungle excursion on Costa Maya. It was the most expensive excursion we did on the cruise and it was horrible!! We drove a jeep for 30 minutes on a mexican highway and then went on an extremely bumpy gravel road for another 20 minutes before ending up at a house on a beach. They served us chips, salsa, tacos, and soda. We were there about 45 minutes and then drove back to the port on a mexican highway. This excursion was only worth $30 vs the $105 we paid.

Don't Miss: Not much to see - but take a golf cart from the port and drive to the near by village to shop. It was a lot of fun. Golf carts can be rented where you meet for any excursions at the port.
