Review summary

Overall, enjoyable and relaxing vacation. This was our first cruise with back to back sea days. About mid way through the second day, was ready to see land and get off. Don't know if we would do that again. But, love cruising, so who knows?

Embarkation

Dropped luggage at drop off, no issues. Ended up circling the parking garage twice while deputies directing traffic and port staff seemed completely confused. Finally rolled down window to ask port employee what was going on. Was told that they had run out of parking and were trying to find places to "stick" vehicles. Mind you, we had a relatively early boarding time. Was finally led to a spot out in the open beside the road to park. Once in the terminal building, the boarding process was quick and relatively easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Guy's Burgers, Guy's Pig and Anchor, and Blue Iguana as good as we remember pre covid. MDR breakfast and sea day brunch were very good. Lido buffet, not so much. MDR dinner selections and quality seems to have slipped quite a bit. Had reservations at Cucina del Capitano our first night. Very good. So good, in fact, had lunch (pasta bar) there during the cruise.

Service and Staff

As always, hard working. Room was kept up nicely. Any special requests were attended to. Had any time dining so had a different wait staff each night until the third night. Wait staff that night was simply awesome. Ran into the team's head waiter the next morning at breakfast and he gave us a tip on how to request him and his team at dinner going forward, so we followed his advice.

Cabin / Stateroom

Had adjoining cove balcony rooms for four people. Me, my wife and two early 20s daughters. Plenty of room between the rooms and nice to have access to two bathrooms. Did not feel cramped or crowded. Both rooms were well attended to by our steward.

Ports of call

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Been there before and was not impressed. Stayed at the port shopping area this time.

Oranjestad, Aruba

Took island tour once off the ship. The same tour as offered by the cruise line for about half the price. We do understand the risk regarding return time but have always found that if we find a tour group immediately after getting off the ship there is time built in if something should happen. Have never had any issues.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Kralendijk, Bonaire

Same as Aruba.

Disembarkation

Disembarking moved ahead of schedule. Quick and painless. Got an excellent porter in the terminal building who quickly brought luggage all the way to our car. And, remember, we were out there.
