Review summary

Great cruise. Best food in a buffet that we have had on any cruise so far. Ship didn't feel crowded with 4000 guest aboard, very few long lines. Would do again.

Embarkation

Because of a shuttle delay from the hotel, we arrived during our scheduled boarding time instead of early like I had planned. There was no waiting, just walked onboard.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was the best of the 4 cruises we have been on. The food at the Marketplace Restaurant buffet was how it should be, hot food hot and cold food cold. Prime Steakhouse was excellent. Tried the Cucina del Capitano Italian restaurant for lunch, very good.

Prime Steakhouse

5 out of 5

Worth the extra cost. Steak was cooked perfect.

Pizzeria

It's hit or miss.

Lido Marketplace

Food was like it should be, hot food hot, and cold food cold. I usually don't eat at a buffet because the food is not at the right temperature.

Cucina Del Capitano

5 out of 5

Very good Italian food. Go at lunch, its complimentry. Cost at dinner.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the water slides, pool and whirlpools. Still trying to win a Gold Plastic Ship on a Stick.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The comdians were top notch. The shows in the Showtime Theater could have been better. Musicians that were playing through out the ship were not to my taste.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward Jose and his crew did a good job. Had any time dining and never had the same wait staff twice the five nights we ate in the ining room. All the wait staff did their jobs well. Some of the bartenders weren't very personable. Cruise director and staff were great.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean. They had staff in public areas all day cleanin, which I think was for show. It was easy to move around the ship, except for the elevators which slow to stop, would bypass floors consistenly. Stairs are actually faster, but my wife has a hard time with stairs because of bad knees. Only 4 elevators in the middle and back of the ship. Noticed a lot of rust when walking around the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Didn't research the cabin carefully enough. Because of the curve of the aft of the ship cabin 7460 is shorter than most balcony cabins. No couch or table and less counter space.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

No excursion

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Great port for beach day. Rented cabana, would do again if were crusing with friends or family as they are expensive.

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
Just ate lunch at the Beached Whale, very good, and walked around a bit. Second time to Grand Turk, the beaches by the port are very rocky.

Willemstad, Curacao

4 out of 5
Took a taxi to Play Porto Marie beach. Cost for lounger and access to the beach, $13. Water was nice and warm, some rocks close to shore.

Oranjestad, Aruba

4 out of 5
No excursion. Would have taken a last minute excursion annouced as we were pulling into port to Eagle beach for $20, but we were already a little sunburnt. Just shopped around the port area.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Waited on deck 4 above the lobby until our number was called. Got off the ship very quickly. Would be 5 stars, but part of our luggage was not in the correct zone.
