Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We enjoyed all the food. The food in the main dining room was delicious and the service by Bagus and his crew could not have been better. We ate at most of the food venues and have no complaints. We did hear some people complaining that there were not enough selections. If you can’t find something to eat that pleases you then maybe you should vacation in a supermarket.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We really didn’t partake in many if the onboard activities as we really just like to use the week to recharge our batteries so we really can’t comment on them to any great degree. I wasn’t sure exactly how to grade this so I chose 4 stars.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The onboard music was pretty good and the comedians were really funny. We did go to one show and it was pretty lame so we didn’t go to any other shows during the cruise. We would really like it if Carnival would find a way to put the R rated comedy shows in the main theater. There are never enough seats and the lines are crazy long to get a seat.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our waiter in the MDR was Bagus and honestly we thought he was the best waiter we have ever had in any of our 21 cruises. Armando was our room steward and he and his crew did an awesome job.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
We loved this ship and it may be our favorite. The only complaint we have is the ever-present mildew smell found in many areas of the ship. My wife has asthma and being around mold and mildew is never a good thing.

Ship tip

So the advice we would give , after listening to a number of complaining cruisers, would be to set your expectations to a realistic level. We go on Carnival for many reasons including great value. We usually can find a great cruise for a few hundred dollars less than many other cruise lines. If you go on a Carnival cruise and expect it to be top of the line 5 star you will be disappointed. If you want to get to that level of service etc. then we suggest you go on a different cruise line. You can’t go into Sears and then complain it’s not Neiman Marcus. Bottom line is the vacation is what you make of it....enjoy!!
