Review summary

It was a good cruise but it wasn’t the greatest. The issues with the food was the biggest letdown of the cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was incredibly smooth. We waited maybe a total of 10 minutes before getting on the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was lacking, which makes me sad. I had a cupcake and the buttercream frosting was lacking any kind of sugar. It tasted like pure butter. The cheesecake was lacking sugar as well. There wasn’t a whole lot of variety in the buffet. Pizza was great and the Carnival Deli had a fantastic chicken sandwich.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Plenty to do - lots of trivia, lots of guest-oriented activities with the cruise director.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was very pleasant

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It was clean for the most part. Our shower still had hair on the wall and there was trash in the trash can still on day 1.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Good location, good size.

Ship tip

Anticipate long lines.

Jack’s Shack is awesome!

Disembarkation

Super smooth and easy getting off the ship. However the terminal at Ft. Lauderdale offers a Global Entry lane but you cannot use it unless you carry your actual GOES card with you.

That sucks about the Global lane....it's linked to your passport. Thanks for that although I carry my card as secondary ID.

We have been on the Magic twice in the last year and a half. We loved it and thought the food was good
