This is my second cruise I’ve ever been on. The first time we went in Royal Caribbean. Carnival is great for kids and anyone who wants to have a fun and relaxing cruise. This carnival cruise was so much better than the Royal Caribbean one that we are never sailing Royal again!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very quick process and had a deck party while we were embarking!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Carnival Magic’s dining rooms and specialty restaurants were amazing. They also have a pasta place which in the afternoon is free! The buffet was ok from the food I had there, but the food looks really good. The waiters would also dance with you while you were eating dinner! It was a fun experience.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
You’ll never get bored onboard Carnival Magic. There’s always something to do whether you are a child or adult. They have 2 water slides, and surprisingly the lines don’t get too long for them- which was really enjoyable because we could go back up whenever we wanted to and not have to wait a half hour. Everyday they had a new activity going on at the lido deck, such as watching an ice sculpture make a swan in less than 3 minutes, drink mixing contest to see which guest could make the best drink, as well as lip sync auditions which would later turn into a big production in the showtime theatre on the last night onboard.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The DJ, DJ Cue was amazing. He always had a mix of genres that way everyone could listen to their favorite music. He always interacted with the guests. The Steel drum player was also great. The stage shows were always a lot of fun. The cruise director, Simon was always at every entertainment activity whether it be on the lido deck or in the theatre.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were all excellent. I never ran into a rude staff member. Our waiters, Nikko, Carlito and Clive were the best. They remembered our names, always served us hot food, and even remembered our drinks. They’re service was fantastic!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was very flowy. You never ran into a huge line or very very crowded areas. The ship was beautiful! The common areas were always clean and I never saw a dirty mess, as you have staff members always going around and making sure everything is how it is supposed to be.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The comfort of the beds were great. The room was very roomy, and our Steward Jorge always made sure we had everything that we needed. Everyday we came back to our cleaned cabin with a different towel animal!
Ship tip
Make sure to look for the “secret doors” that lead to decks at the very front of the ship!
The water in Half Moon Cay is so clear and bright blue. The sand feels like flour and the island is very maintained. We didn’t do an excursion because we had so much fun hanging out at the beach with the DJ and watching the competitions on the beach! But they do have water bikes, kayaks, horses to ride, etc.
For Grand Turk we rented a fishing charter. Wasn’t my favorite. My family also said there was multiple people asking them if they wanted to buy drugs. I would recommend Margaritaville if ur looking to have a fun time- it’s free as well.
The water in Aruba is beautiful. This was my first time going to Aruba and surprisingly I didn’t know that a lot of the island is desert. We did a private ATV tour around the island and loved it. They showed us caves, beaches, a cave with a water hole with a cliff to jump off of it and many more places. Would definitely recommend. I always felt safe here!
Curaçao was my favorite island. Everything about this island is beautiful. We rented a car and drove around the island before we swam with Dolphins at Dolphin Academy at 2. Although I would really recommend doing a morning swim or early afternoon if the boat is leaving early like 4. We left Dolphin Academy at 3 and had to rush back to the port to be there back in time for everyone on board at 3:30. It was a good experience though!
Our 4th Carnival trip in Nov 2019. Havent gone on other lines yet.
My 1st cruise years back, was on the Triumph. No water park like magic and breeze had. 7 days on the bigger ships, more good food, more than plenty to do.
Who was the cruise director? That's what made the Magic great for us.. I want to say Dr. Dre.. kind of a let down on the breeze though.
