Review summary

We had a great cruise and can’t wait for our next one. The Carnival Magic is my favorite ship so far.

Embarkation

The port in Ft. Lauderdale is smaller than other ports that I have been to but we were able to get on the ship pretty quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
I wasn’t a fan of Pig & Anchor but the other food options were really good. We ate at the steakhouse and the food was phenomenal. Everything we tasted was amazing.

Onboard Activities

We all really enjoyed Waterworks!!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The Playlist Production shows we’re pretty good. The different musicians that played around the ship were very talented. We enjoyed the comedy shows as well.

Children's Programs

My boys really enjoyed the kid’s club. They never wanted to leave.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service on the ship was ok. Pratima Kambang is part of the waitstaff and she is awesome at her job. We looked forward to seeing her everyday in the buffet. She was so attentive and my boys fell in love with her. She felt like part of our family.

We stayed at the Marriott Vacation Club on the beach. It was really nice. Everything that we needed was in walking distance. Coconuts is a really good restaurant to go to. The food is really good and it has a really nice atmosphere.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

We had a tour around the island. There is still a lot of damage from the hurricane. The beaches are nice. We really enjoyed seeing the planes land at Maho Beach.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

We paid $15pp for a tour to the guys in the blue shirts right as you walk out of the gate. It was really nice and informative. I can’t wait to go back.

We went to Jack’s Shack. We had the best jerk chicken and the water was so clear. We paid $10 for two chairs and an umbrella on the beach. It’s was nice and relaxing. Nice vibe.

Reggae Beach was great! Not crowded either! Was a great beach day for us, although I saw a guy that got too close to a sea urchin...ouch.

Magic was my favorite also, I do miss it now that it left Tx.

Glad you enjoyed it. We travel primarily for the ports, but always enjoy the ship as well. It’s interesting that 2 others were on the exact same sailing and posted reviews that it was their worst cruise ever, the food and entertainment were horrible, etc. If someone can’t find something to eat or do on a cruise, then they are extremely picky or are just looking for something to complain about.
