Review summary

Carnival has become a Walmart of cruises. They treat you like cattle and don’t make you feel special. They may be cheaper but it’s not worth it. The staff are good but the company has made cruising a no frills uneventful experience. They could take lessons from Celebrity or Holland

Couldn’t board until 12:30 and they would not let us board with are traveling party who are platinum because we were gold members, however it was only 20 minutes later which made me think people who paid money for faster to fun got ripped off.

Lines at lido are Redicilous and they never keep salt and pepper in tables. You always have to go looking which is stupid. Hi

This ship had lots of rust on it. Been on 28 cruises and never saw a ship like this.The Captain takes no pride in his ship

Cabin / Stateroom

Had to choose time for room cleaning or not get it,so if we wanted to sleep in we couldn’t so we opted out of the 6-9 am cleaning and making the bed. Another rip from Carnival this cabin you could hear the loud speaker in the casino and the balcony looks right out at hot tub so you have no privacy

Ship tip

Arrive early for lunch. Make sure your room is cool when you arrive or demand a room change. Many people said the rooms were warm at night.

This is going to be my first time cruising and I chose the Magic because it looks like fun. I rarely pay attn to reviews because most are based on "expectations" rather than the reality of "it is what it is" and making the most of any situation. The only thing I expect: the ship to move and for me to have access to food and a bed! The rest...I'll go with the flow...it IS vacation! T minus 23! Happy cruising everyone

And btw booking a balcony room right over a hot tub was your own fault. Lack of research and planning. I deliberately chose my cabin with those types of things in mind.

I've been on Holland and Carnival and Holland was quite stuffy for my taste. My husband didn't like how formal Holland was so I'm taking him on his first Carnival cruise in Feb. After Carnival I came home and said honey this cruise is so much more relaxed and comfortable. Not stuffy! I cant wait to experience Carnival Magic with him. I guess I'm just a simple Walmart type gal!!

Imagine that, a ship sailing in salt water had some rust. You didn't get privacy in a hot tub in public areas, really you had to stand in line at the buffet?

#angelkeim..just $$$ they want, and next year are permitting "comfort" animals on with guests with special needs. I think this year is my last.
