Review summary

Like all cruise lines Carnival is cutting back. Every cruise something else is missing in their services. In our daily paper we got warnings about Zika and they told us to wear long sleeved shirts and pants, also use insecticide with DEET. It would have been helpful to know this before we left. Also there was a warning in Honduras about criminal activity. The ship was very gaudy and needed work on it cosmetically. We enjoyed the brunch on sea days and the main dining room was good. We tried the Cucina de Capitano for lunch and weren't impressed. We went to relax and was able to do that even though my wife was very disappointed in the very old movies available in the cabin. Most of the crew were very pleasant with only a couple of exceptions. Also there was many announcements over the PA from earlier in the morning until after 10 at night. We make the best of things and don't let much ruin our vacation. We also never left the boat.

Rather than blame carnival how bout doing your own research ??? I just got back from Bermuda and carribean and had no problems with mosquitos - but then I did my research ahead of time!!!

Make sure to update your profile on carnival website to receive email communications...I had opted out and didn't even know it....happy cruising!

So you are just now learning about ZIka and high crime in Central America and you're upset with Carnival!? Lol.

I've got several emails from Carnivals before this cruise and none mentioned Zika virus.

We received several emails from Carnival about Zika. I would check your spam folder of you're not getting any. But like someone else said. Strictly for liability purposes, nothing you haven't already heard on the news.

I know my doctor told me to use sunscreen first then deet mosquito spray after. Wear longer cotton pants to ensure your covered.

I can say that we leave in a week on her and I've not received an email. But then again I feel I'm adult enough to realize that there is a chance of the virus and take the needed precautions.

Make sure they have the right email on file. Also the Zika virus has been talked about everywhere from news channels and various social media outlets. I am preparing for my cruise in July.

Our cruise is over 15 days away and I know Ive received at least 4 emails already about zika.

annwilliams1963yahoocom    8 years ago

My cruise is October 1st and I have received 1 email stating that the zika virus is high in Belize.

They have to print those warnings for liability reasons and so those unaware can take precautions it doesn't mean their is a Zika outbreak or that you must wear everything stated also most ports do warn that there is the possibility for pick pocketing and to be aware of surroundings again as a precaution and for liability reasons.

I would be afraid of crime and not mosquitoes, puerto rico has only about 400 cases out of 3 million that live there. Brazil is worst with the zica and they haven't canceled the Olympic games

I leave in 2 days and never gotten an email either

It sounds as though you just were having a bad day(for a week)! I don't know how you can have a bad time on a cruise! Life is what you make it I suppose!

I've gotten at least 4 emails about Zika since November.

gmce11    8 years ago

I've gotten two emails stating the zika virus was a possibility at one of my ports.
